They can be made very simply and at little cost, or they can be extravagant in style and frighteningly expensive. Window seats can also be elegant and affordable. The window seat in this photograph is very traditional in style, but was designed and made about 5 years ago for a house in Oxfordshire. It is made out of home-grown oak and has beautiful book-matched panels as well as a hand-carved border.
